notate a
wildness. They bark at each other in some Scandinavian
tongue. Two men arguing like mad and desperate children.
The man with the binoculars sights something.
EXT. HORIZON - BINOCULARS POV - A DOG
It turns and snarls at the craft some fifteen hundred
yards to its rear. Then whirls and gallops off. A gun
blast kicks up snow at its heels.
INT. COPTER
Another blast of rifle fire as the man t
dance twenties.
EXT. GREAT HALL, COUNTRY ESTATE - MORNING
Parrish, groomed for the day, trots down the stairs, observ-
ing the activity outside through the windows. He checks his
watch, strides down the hall, encounters MAY, 50, a family
retainer who is opening the doors to the terrace as Parrish
passes.
PARRISH
What do you think of all this, May?
MAY
Its going to be beautiful. And
Miss Allison s
notations.
CAB DRIVER
Uh, listen... youre not supposed to
be smoking in here. Im sorry,

WELLES
How about this... every cigarette I
smoke, I give you five dollars?
CAB DRIVER
Okay... okay, yeah, thatd be good...
EXT. MIAMI BEACH, "GOLD COAST" -- DAY
In front of an Art Deco hotel, the driver opens the
limousine door and the Young Republican steps out.
ACROSS THE STREET
Wel
dance of technological black magic.
Another pair of Interpreters loom out of the darkness, side
by side, ghostly looking, their glasses reflecting the glare
of the light table, like magicians staring into a crystal
ball.
IMAGES FILL THE SCREEN
Aerial shots, flashing by. Cuban countryside from 72,500
feet. A MAGNIFYING GLASS swings down on its arm in front of
us, magnifying the carpet of trees...
Contemporary dance, characterized by its unconstrained
